How A Dad's Son Was Saved By Surveillance Equipment

My son was always against me installing surveillance camera equipment in his car, but I am very thankful I stuck to my guns - particularly soon after the surveillance system helped us find him soon after he got into a near-fatal accident.

It all started out when my son was bugging me for a car. He wanted a 2nd-hand sports car from his friend's dad who so happened to be a used car salesman. I gifted him a Toyota Corolla LE and kept really a few conditions. Chief among those conditions was that I set up a security system composed of a GPS tracker and a listening device in the car. He was stubborn about the whole thing at first, but he got those stubborn genes from me - except my genes were much more stubborn than his.

So he ultimately relented and agreed to the entire thing. He tried disabling the Surveillance Equipment on the very first week he got the car. I withheld driving privileges for a entire week soon after I recognized the GPS device was turned off. He never ever experimented with it again and gave it up.

Now I'm not the type of dad that butts into every thing that my son does. I chose to set up a surveillance system in the car so I can respond quickly to any emergency without having to bug him all the time about the place he's going or what he's doing.

Then the accident occurred.

I was in fact worried about my son when he left the residence with his pals. He brought a lot more stuff than he generally does, which informed me they have been going on a journey. Of course my wife was beside herself with worry. I told her that the kid has to go out and have some entertaining every now and then. And apart from, I had surveillance equipment put in in the car. He'll be just fine.

Of course, I did not tell my wife that I was practically glued to the software connecting the GPS surveillance security equipment to my tablet.

After a few hrs, I noticed that my son's 'blip' on the GPS display was stationary just on the side of a freeway near the nearby mountains. 5 minutes passed. Ten minutes passed. Fifteen minutes passed. I was getting worried, so I tuned into the audio feed of the listening device.

What I heard sent a cold chill up my spine. There was static all over the place, along with the sound of my son's voice groaning in discomfort. I called up his mobile phone instantly soon after that. He wasn't picking it up. I called the police and reported a possible accident. I then drove over to the coordinates on the GPS device as quickly as I could.

I saw bent and warped railings near the area of my son's coordinates, followed by his car slammed right into a tree trunk. I located no sign of the pals he was with. I called the police once again and confirmed that there has been without a doubt an accident. They arrived with an ambulance and were able to get to my son in time.

He suffered multiple lacerations, broke his femur and had three cracked ribs. He informed me what occurred when he was recovering at the hospital. He was in fact racing with a couple of buddies of his. It was a blend of youthful daring and a couple of beers - something I was quite angry about when the entire thing was over.

The really infuriating part, though, was his so-called pals abandoning him when he got into an accident. They did not even phone for help. They left him to die. I charged them with depraved indifference, criminal negligence, man slaughter and no matter what other cases my lawyer could dig up against them.

So if you want to give your kids freedom without sacrificing their safety, I highly advise you speak about installing surveillance equipment in their cars. This may just be the one thing that saves their lives.
