I never ever thought that I would be that guy, the one you would see biking around town with it. That was up until I almost lost it all on my way to work one day.
You see I was a typical bike commuter to work and never ever thought that anything bad can happen so I only had the bare essentials when it pertained to bike accessories.
One day I was heading to work much like any other day when I went to go around a parked automobile and didn't noticed that there was a vehicle just about to pass me and I almost went under the automobile.
Thankfully the person in the automobile realized that I going to go around and stopped. She also pressed on the horn really loud which terrified me half to death, but that was absolutely nothing compared with the realization that I came very near to packing it in.
When I got to work and was talking about my near fatal experience with my colleagues my work pal sarcastically asked "well you have a bicycle mirror right?".
That totally had me off guard, I had not realized that it was common sense to utilize one.
