A Short High Level View Of Newcastle Gigs

The town of Newcastle is mostly bustling with masses of activity. Music isn't just a favorite pass time here ; the neighbors take their music seriously. There are several local bands jostling for Newcastle gigs held at the many entertainment spots and arenas all over the town. Newcastle also plays host to many countrywide and world artists who are always assured of a warm reception when they come to perform for these mad music lovers. Any local artist or group that shows a glance of real talent immediately pulls a massive interest and following. The fans can be quite demanding so it's the privilege of the performing artist to ensure that the gang is happy with their performance.

One of the largest Newcastle gigs of modern times was the concert by Motorhead at the Newcastle City Hall in November 2005. The band was in top form and started steadily much to the elation of the loving crowd. One of the highlight performances was the song 'Killed by Death' which captured the spectators and drove them into fever as they jumped and sang along to the lyrics. In between their songs, they took breaks to switch their costumes which perked up their performances and added to the themes of the tracks.

The Roxy Music Newcastle gig held early on in the year in January proved to be a disgruntlement due to terribly poor sound quality. The band is gifted and the issue was likely not of their making. The organizers were just sloppy and the gang was kept waiting for long as they fiddled with the sound system. When Roxy Music took to the stage, the gang showed a lot of eagerness, but this was dampened by the distorted sound coming thru. In addition, there were numerous security staff who seemed to pester fans. The organizers disappointed the large crowd that had turned up to cheer an otherwise talented band.

The Metro Arena in Newcastle played host to Paul Weller and his entourage in May this year. This came after an analogous event slated for December last year was postponed. It was a breezy evening, and the wind energetically blew at the many imitation hair-cuts embellished by Weller fans. Weller took to the stage and gave an eclectic mixture of old and new songs at an exceedingly high tempo. The energy shown by the 52 year old performer was marched by the enthusiastic crowd. It will go down as one of the most successful Newcastle gigs this year.
